A Free Meditation to Get You Into Your Heart and Articles on Listening and Connecting to Your Heart!
When we stop listening to our heart we become agitated instantly. This happens because we have lost touch with our feelings and sensations, and the dissatisfied feeling is a warning sign that we are not aligned with our true heart’s desire. Sometimes we start to look outside the self for happiness, thinking someone or
something will make us happy, but these things will only provide temporary happiness. The more we reside in our minds with our thoughts, the more anxious we become. The only way to unlock all the heaviness and feel completely connected again is to turn to the heart.
You can learn to distribute your energy evenly between the head and the heart. This is the only way one is able to get into true contact with one’s senses and touch real feelings. Try the FREE Heart Meditation to begin to listen to your heart!
FREE Heart Meditation:
This is a free 10 minute meditation that is easy and relaxing. By doing the Heart Light Meditation, you will learn how to quiet the thoughts in your head, and instead, tune into your heart. For this meditation, you will need a candle in a holder, quiet music and a comfortable chair. You should preferably be in a space where you will be undisturbed for 10 to 20 minutes.
To Begin:
Find a quiet place where you can relax and let go. Light a candle (make sure to have it in a dish or candle holder for safety). Dim the lights and put on very relaxing music. Please sit in a chair and be very comfortable.
Take 3 large breaths in and out and place your focus on your breath to start. Each time you breathe in and then out, feel your shoulders drop.
Now as you let your breath go back to normal, place your focus on the lighted candle. When you do this, imagine your mind dropping into your heart. Let go of all of your thoughts and worries from the day. Imagine them as a bag that you carry around with you and that you are setting the bag down. (You can pick it up after the meditation if you really want to 😉 Imagine that the light from the candle is the light inside of you, burning brightly. Allow your spirit to be turned ON. As thoughts arise, set them down and let them go one by one. Feel your spirit getting lighter and lighter as you let go of more and more thoughts and concerns. Your spirit feels so light that you are shining brightly now.
Be with your spirit in this moment. Be completely present with it. If any emotions arise, gently and gracefully let them pass (as a person passing you on a bridge). Don’t try to control them, and don’t react to them. Just let them be there and observe them as you would observe a person walking by. No judgment and no criticism… just awareness.
As you focus on the light of the candle, feel the warmth of your chest and the glow of your spirit. Let your heart speak if it has anything to say. You will know when messages come from your spirit instead of your mind because they will be direct and loving. Your mind will produce thoughts of worry and concern.

To close down, put your right hand on your lower belly and then cover your left hand over your right hand. Bring all of the energy down to your lower Dan Tien (your lower energy center). Rest in this position for a few minutes.
