If the hard working bee has been buzzing into your life, then you might be receiving messages about family, community and how you can contribute to society. Whenever you are going to determine the symbolism of an animal or insect, it is best to simply observe them in nature. When you watch their behavior, social habits and how they relate to their environment, you can receive valuable insights and lessons for how you can better live your own life. Bees play such an important role and have a huge impact on the world at large. They have come to symbolize productivity, community and nurturing.
Animal Totem Bees
Bees are hardworking and productive. They work independently to get their various tasks done, but they always keep the idea of the team in mind. Because of this, bees symbolize the importance of knowing the goals of the family and community (which helps you understand your purpose easily). Bees perform many tasks; they nurture their young, build the hive, take care of the queen, all while taking take of themselves in the process. If the bee has been entering your life, this could be a sign that it’s time to make sure that you are balancing work tasks with family time. Know that you are needed not only at your job, but at home as well. When you understand how important you are to both, it helps you better understand your purpose in life.
Bees create and live in a hive that is made up of tightly packed cells which are in the shape of hexagons. These cells are made of beeswax and the entire unit is called a honeycomb. The cells serve the purpose of storing the food as well as providing a place for the young. So in essence, the whole hive itself represents a place of child-rearing, caring for family, love for the unit, stability within the home, harmony in the family, and open communication towards each other. The hive houses hundreds of bees, and they are all working to nourish the hive and further the life of the hive as a whole. For these reasons, bees also symbolize love, nurturing and happy family life. As an animal totem, bees might be telling you to look at ways that you can help create more harmony within your family life through love, nourishment and communication.
Bees pollinate many plants and serve an important role in nature. When they fly from flower to flower, they collect pollen to bring back to the hive, but because they have fuzzy legs, some pollen gets transferred to other flowers (which is very important in an agricultural sense). This pollination ensures the continued survival of many plants. Bees are the reason we have many fruits and vegetables throughout the year. In doing their work and fulfilling their purpose for the hive, they have a direct impact on the world at large. You can begin to see how their individual work has a ripple effect. If the bee has been showing up as a symbol for you, ask yourself how the work you choose to do can have an impact on not only your family, but the world at large. You may be called to do work that serves a greater purpose while it allows you to provide for your family!
Bees symbolize:
-Community
-Family
-Love
-Nurturing
-Hard Work
-Productivity
-Communication
-Organization
As you can see, bees play a very important role in life. Because they are so in tune with their task of taking care of their hive, they have continued to serve the world at large and provide the miracle of pollination without even knowing it! This trait helps us see a very important message about what it means to be an active participant in the world. By fulfilling your purpose, whatever that might be, you are having a direct impact not only on those closest to you, but the entire community and world. Just like the bee, you may never fully come to realize how your tiny actions have an affect, but know that if you are here, there is a very good reason. The important thing is to keep staying in tune with your purpose and allow yourself to be led by whatever that is. By fulfilling this, you are contributing to the greater good!
URGENT UPDATE ABOUT BEES: Recently, scientists have been sounding the alarm that the bee population is in threat. In many countries, farmers and companies are using pesticides to control and fight off pests that damage their crops, but in doing this, they are also killing off the bees. Without bees, many plants and about half of our food supply could disappear. There are organizations that are trying to grow awareness about this problem, and you can do something to help! Please read these articles: “Scientists Discover What’s Killing the Bees and It’s Worse Than You Thought” and “Beekeeper saying pesticide killing millions of bees” and also visit www.Avaaz.org to see how you can help bring attention to others about this issue.
