If you have been experiencing knee pain, achy knees, sore knees, trouble walking or standing, then you may have a blockage or stuck energy in the knees. There are chakras or energy centers in the knees which help us with connecting with and feeling confident with our spiritual path. This article will provide insight about energy healing for knee chakras so you can move forward on your path with more ease and grace.
What do the knees represent?
In the energetic and spiritual world, the knees represent our ability to be flexible and yielding. The knees can tell us whether we are open to the unknown. If there is weakness or soreness in the knees, it may indicate we have a problem with being open to change or taking on life without fear.
Chinese Medicine of the Knee
In Chinese Medicine, the knees are directly linked to the organs of the kidneys. And in the five elements, the kindey’s emotion is fear. If someone is having a knee issue, they are most likely also having a kidney issue. The soreness in the knee, is the body’s way of telling you the kidney is off. The energy there might be blocked, or there may be a physical issue in the kidney. Either way, this will show up as a problem in the knees and also in the emotion of fear.

Stretch the calves by standing on the edge of a step and allowing the heal of one foot to drop down. Switch to the other foot. Roll the quad muscles with a foam roller. And stretch the hamstrings by sitting on the ground with your legs straight out in front of you and stretch forward.
- Perform the warrior yoga poses to strengthen the knees and muscles surrounding the knees.
- Drink more water to keep the kidney energy system performing optimally. Drink less coffee and teas with caffeine as this will cause kidney system weakness.
- Rest during the winter months. You may notice your knees become more sore or weak during the winter. Also the kidney system is tied to winter season. So it’s no wonder that if you play too hard or work too hard in the winter time, you will feel it in your knees. During the winter season, try to stay balanced and get good rest. Stretch and allow your energy to regenerate.
- Use affirmations to help you with feeling okay with moving forward in life.
Knee pain is often associated with big change in our life. The knees can often show us when we are allowing your ego to get the best of us. In spiritual practice as well as in challenging life situations, one must often go “down” or surrender before being able to truly move forward. Think about it… every time we move forward in life or face change, we are facing the unknown. This can make you feel vulnerable and scared. Some may choose to stand rigid and stiff “kneed” to these circumstances, resisting the change. Rather than admit we have fear, we resist it and this can start to tax the energy system and make us feel overwhelmed. What happens next? The energy system in the body shuts down and the knees collapse.
The collapse may not be such a bad thing. For one, it forces us to rest. Also, collapsing to the knees represents a form of humility. If you look at spiritual and religious texts, they are filled with people kneeling as a form of humility. It’s no coincidence that people who want to learn or gain knowledge on a spiritual level will kneel to pray or meditate. Kneeling is not the same as giving up. Rather, it represents the desire for higher knowledge and a willingness to receive and heal.
When the knee chakras are fully open and the energy is flowing properly, it probably indicates that you have no problem with kneeling or resting on the knees. This would also show up in someone with a flexible nature who is willing to experience life with a humble frame of mind. Energy healing for the knee chakras can help you feel more accepting of what lies ahead and give you peace of mind that the changes to come are for the best!
